A Message from the Chairman of the Board, Bishop Wilbert Preston:

The Greenburgh Housing Authority (GHA), a Westchester County provider of decent affordable housing in a safe and secure environment for low and moderate income residents, is located in Greenburgh, New York. A multi-site authority with housing stock in Elmsford, Hartsdale, and Greenburgh, GHA administers a town-wide Section 8 Leased Housing Program in rental apartments. The ever challenging mission to preserve GHA's aging housing stock through preventive and reactive maintenance, and modernization continues to tax our ever-shrinking resourses. Given our high occupancy rate (exceeding 95%), the ever expanding population of low income citizens within Westchester County, and more specific, the town of Greenburgh, and the fading financial support from the government makes the mission of GHA to provide and grow decent, safe, affordable housing more and more difficult.

While continuing to maintain the housing stock, our efforts to enhance the quality of life at Greenburgh Housing Authority go beyond real estate. Through partnerships with various other agencies we seek to broaden resident access to a multitude of educational, recreational, and community programs. The more our residents participate and understand the responsiblities of owning their community, the greater the pride for all.
